Chany is a supervisor for the New York Water Science Center Observing Systems Branch in Troy. She served as a member and chair of the Hydroacoustics Workgroup (HaWG 2019-2024) and spends a good amount of time involved in hydroacoustics testing, helping with classes offered by the HaWG and developing in-house training sessions for her team in New York. Chany is a member of the NYWSC Dive Team and has a few other side gigs. She started her career with the USGS back in 2007 in South Florida and also worked in Sacramento, California before moving to Troy in 2020.
