Monica Langhorst is a hydrologist with the Oklahoma-Texas Water Science Center. She currently supervises a team in the Central Texas Studies Section that continuously monitors water quality on the Pecos and Rio Grande Rivers. She has been a member of the NWIS Modernization Program Management Team for two years serving as the Communications Lead and facilitating projects in the Time-Series and Monitoring Location Sub-Programs. Monica also leads the training team for the AQUARIUS Samples Integration Project (ASIP) and is looking forward to rolling out the replacement for QWDATA.
Monica began her career with the USGS as a hydrologic technician in the Austin Field Unit where she was the water-quality and groundwater lead. Her experience includes continuous monitoring and both groundwater and surface-water sampling and data management. She also served as the Oklahoma-Texas Water Science Center water-quality database administrator providing service to staff at all levels making the database more accessible, efficient, and relevant to their workflow and data needs.
