Florence Thompson is a geographer and has been with the U.S. Geological Survey since 2006.  She is currently a member of the Integrated Hydrology and Data Science Branch in the Oklahoma-Texas Water Science Center.  In her early years with USGS she produced national hydrologic datasets for small-scale mapping and then transitioned to creating map services and wrangling spatial data for numerous web mapping applications such as Streamer, the Estimated Base Flood Elevation viewer, Flood Decision Support Toolbox, and the MRGESCP Portal.  In addition to GIS work, she manages web mapping projects, fields public inquiries, and recently became the product owner for the National Water Dashboard.
