I am a new arrival to the California Water Science Center (CAWSC) - replacing Dave Pratt - as Chief of Database Management and Support. I'm coming to CAWSC from my most recent position with the Science Data Management branch of the Science Analytics and Synthesis (SAS) Program within the Core Science Systems Mission Area where I've spent the last four years working as the Program's Data Manager (guiding and reviewing data and software releases and associated information product development); a Software Release request processor for the USGS GitLab team; as Scrum Manager for the SDM branch's application portfolio (e.g., Asset Identifier Service (AIS), ScienceBase Data Release (SBDR), Science Data Catalog (SDC)); as the Theme Lead for the Biodiversity & Ecosystems theme of National Geospatial Data Assets in GeoPlatform; and as a Taxonomic Data Development Specialist (bees) for the Integrated Taxonomic Information System (ITIS). Prior to joining SDM, I worked for the EcoScience Synthesis branch of the same SAS Program for seven years, as the Product Coordinator for the (now retired) Biodiversity Information Serving Our Nation (BISO) online species occurrence mapping application. I am a former employee of the USGS National Biological Information Infrastructure (NBII) program.
